Observational drawings using ink!
These are my Secondary observational drawings. I thought that using different methods, different methods would create abstract effects rather than the obvious. I used different tools such as a straw, one penny a stick and a glue stick. All in which made great and individual effects! out of all of them I definitely preferred using the stick!

Mcfly
Now I know Mcfly come across as this cheesy school boy band, but look how much they've grown? It fits perfectly into my project 'One word' the outfits their wearing and the way they act upon their own personalities really grows upon me. I especially like what Danny is wearing, he comes across as this cheeky chappy. it's almost as if there having a bit of a laugh when it comes to men who actually dress and act this way. I love the matching outfits and how it all fits together!

Observational drawings
For this project, observational drawings of primary and secondary drawings were required. All on A3. It was an idea to use different materials to create different textures and effects. These were the outcome:
For all of these I used white paint, black ink, charcoal and soft pastels to create this effect.

Illustration
Wow! i love this illustration!
The different types of materials
used to create this, ink, newspaper,
chalk, paint, it all just goes together
and gives it this old yet
new effect!

Inspirations
I thought as i'm doing menswear, the best option
would be to look at some males who inspire me
with their clothing and lifestyle. And with a doubt
the best i've seen that actually links to my
project is the men from the cast of 'Made
in Chelsea'. The fashion sense is incredible.
It's amazing. Fair enough they've no doubt
been styled, but the style suits them and their
life style. It's a very traditional english theme
and really hits home. It's this idea of 'look
at me, I can afford to look this good'.
And it almost represents power, and
authority. I especially love Andy, Spencer
and Hugo's look. It really stands out, yes
they are all business men, but they take the
business look and completely rearrange it |to their
style. And that's what I love, they've took a trend
and this idea of power and altered it. It shows
that you don't have to look like everyone else,
yet it can still have the same ideas.

Wine Tasting
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kl22c4WEzLI
This is a video on wine tasting, it specialises especially in white wine.
They talk about how they determine the taste of the wine, and the
different types. They talk about how they mark the wines
and what they can do to improve. I think it really benefits
my project because it speaks about how they
interpret white wine and there opinion, so it's nice to
get someone else's opinion rather than my peers.

One Word Project
So here comes a new Fashion Project! Basically we was given a bag full of random words, and we was to pick one at random, it was quite exciting and nerve racking because the word that we got, would be our starting point. I quite liked the idea of not being able to choose the word because in industry you're not going to be able to choose the task.
So my word was:
Grape
And it seems frightening, and at first I was daunted by the idea and a bit confused. But It doesn't have to be the obvious. So Grapes? There made into wine, and then i can talk about the periods that drink wine, and who drinks wine? What countries make wine. I thought I could then bring it back to the UK and talk about Tudor periods and what wine symbolised, and then as well as menswear because I wanted to link wine to that. So i've looked at Saville Row, Tailors, Male designers. And throughout my
research I have only included males. So for artists I Had males, Designers I had males, historical context was based upon males, Just so then when I come to making a garment it links. I've decided to create a Blazer for a Male. But almost quiet a wealthy look. A look that wants to make other men jealous and envious. I will learn how to measure body shapes and the blazer will be made from a pattern.
I've put some pictures up underneath to just give you some idea's on what I have been looking at and my idea's.
