Now I know Mcfly come across as this cheesy school boy band, but look how much they've grown? It fits perfectly into my project 'One word' the outfits their wearing and the way they act upon their own personalities really grows upon me. I especially like what Danny is wearing, he comes across as this cheeky chappy. it's almost as if there having a bit of a laugh when it comes to men who actually dress and act this way. I love the matching outfits and how it all fits together!
Take a look!

Observational drawings
For this project, observational drawings of primary and secondary drawings were required. All on A3. It was an idea to use different materials to create different textures and effects. These were the outcome:
For all of these I used white paint, black ink, charcoal and soft pastels to create this effect.

Illustration
Wow! i love this illustration!
The different types of materials
used to create this, ink, newspaper,
chalk, paint, it all just goes together
and gives it this old yet
new effect!

Inspirations
I thought as i'm doing menswear, the best option
would be to look at some males who inspire me
with their clothing and lifestyle. And with a doubt
the best i've seen that actually links to my
project is the men from the cast of 'Made
in Chelsea'. The fashion sense is incredible.
It's amazing. Fair enough they've no doubt
been styled, but the style suits them and their
life style. It's a very traditional english theme
and really hits home. It's this idea of 'look
at me, I can afford to look this good'.
And it almost represents power, and
authority. I especially love Andy, Spencer
and Hugo's look. It really stands out, yes
they are all business men, but they take the
business look and completely rearrange it |to their
style. And that's what I love, they've took a trend
and this idea of power and altered it. It shows
that you don't have to look like everyone else,
yet it can still have the same ideas.

Wine Tasting
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kl22c4WEzLI
This is a video on wine tasting, it specialises especially in white wine.
They talk about how they determine the taste of the wine, and the
different types. They talk about how they mark the wines
and what they can do to improve. I think it really benefits
my project because it speaks about how they
interpret white wine and there opinion, so it's nice to
get someone else's opinion rather than my peers.

One Word Project
So here comes a new Fashion Project! Basically we was given a bag full of random words, and we was to pick one at random, it was quite exciting and nerve racking because the word that we got, would be our starting point. I quite liked the idea of not being able to choose the word because in industry you're not going to be able to choose the task.
So my word was:
Grape
And it seems frightening, and at first I was daunted by the idea and a bit confused. But It doesn't have to be the obvious. So Grapes? There made into wine, and then i can talk about the periods that drink wine, and who drinks wine? What countries make wine. I thought I could then bring it back to the UK and talk about Tudor periods and what wine symbolised, and then as well as menswear because I wanted to link wine to that. So i've looked at Saville Row, Tailors, Male designers. And throughout my
research I have only included males. So for artists I Had males, Designers I had males, historical context was based upon males, Just so then when I come to making a garment it links. I've decided to create a Blazer for a Male. But almost quiet a wealthy look. A look that wants to make other men jealous and envious. I will learn how to measure body shapes and the blazer will be made from a pattern.
I've put some pictures up underneath to just give you some idea's on what I have been looking at and my idea's.

Illustrations
These are my illustrations for my project 'Mini me' The reason there is no colour, and the fact i've shaded them in with pen is so that you for yourself can see the shape, and the design. also it gives the illustrations a great effect! it makes them more bold and they stand out so much more!
Menswear Illustrations
For my next project I'm going to attempt to create some form of menswear. So it shows a variety of different aspects of fashion in which I will be able to do. I don't know specifically what the project is based upon until I find out later today. All I can say to you is that we will place our hand into a bag full of random words, and whichever word we pick out will be our starting point. Which is a bit daunting, but in industry we don't always get given a subject we particularly like but we get on with it and make it enjoyable. Throughout a number of my projects, when it comes fashion illustrations, i'm straight on the internet and looking for Croquis on google. So i've looked up some visual artwork based on mens fashion illustrations, and found some amazing pieces! The idea there not just 'fashion illustrations'. They seem to have so much more aspect to them, rather than just showing off the garments.
I love this one! it's totally different compared to other illustrations. They've used a range of material to create this dull and mysterious effect. So by not just using pencil or pen, but by using a range of different materials you can create different shades, and different looks.
On this one I almost see a bit of surrealism in this picture. Why doesn't the character have a face? Is it simply because it's the idea of when you wear this garment, does it make you feel like you can be anyone you wish to be? Almost like you don't have to stick to a trend, or anything. That you don't have to be given an identity because by wearing this coat you are sticking to your own trend not someone else's? i like the fact of having illustrations that say more about a person as well as showing and advertising a garment.
I love this colour scheme! it's unusual but unique. The colours seem very feminine, yet it's advertising for menswear? So it's making the public think. Do I want to wear this and have a feminine identity, but in the form of a man? But by using a facial expression also it gives the idea that yes this looks very feminine but the expression gives the idea that no, actually this look is only for the wealthy, were a higher class than you, and you wish you could afford this look.
Mini Me - Mood board!
This is my mood board for my project 'Mini me'. The whole project and aspects itself of this project is simply to create a miniature doll based on your own style and personality. I have a lot of interesting things about myself, but yet in the simplest form. On this mood board there are a number of things that makes me who I am. I'll explain each picture and why it's a part of my life. So the cup of tea picture, it may just seem like a daily part of everyones life, but to me it's more. The idea that when i've had a bad day or i'm feeling stressed i have a cup of tea. It's almost like an addiction. And yet something so simple can make me feel happy. On the mood board there are a number of pictures to do with autumn. Winters my favourite season out of them all, but autumn I love the colours. It makes the world seem so much more colourful, it changes moods and aspects on life, because it makes the world seems bigger and brighter and that it doesn't always have to be doom and gloom. The pictures with the couples in love is also such a massive part of my life. I love being in love, and the idea that I can act myself and not have to put on a disguise and someone can still love me. The idea you can be happy and have someone in your life who you can be happy with. The building at the bottom is based in Chelsea. Somewhere in which I would love to live. I would love to live the lifestyle some of the people live living there. Having wealth, happiness and being able to show it off because you earned it.
And last but not least there's a fair few pictures of street fashion and photography to do with menswear. I love menswear, a lot more than I like Ladies wear. I just feel like it's a lot simpler to make, but you can make it into something amazing and it can trend world wide. You have to put just as much work into it as any other piece of fashion but the idea of making my own menswear and then photographing the final shoot definitely seems like a career path i'd love to go down.
